Dear Barry,
It was a dark and stormy night when the heavens opened and unleashed a torrential rain like we had never seen in our area. Our roof leaked and we were miserable. Our insurer sent an emergency crew. After a checkup of our roof and assessing the inside damages, the project manager told us that we had to fix our roof before he would even think of starting on the inside repairs.
What to do? Can we patch it and hope our shingle roof lasts another five years, which was the life expectancy that we had hoped for from our 20 year shingles in the first place. Do we bite the bullet and re-shingle the entire roof and hope that we don’t have to go through this turmoil again for another 15 years? Or can we even dare to consider the option of the much more expensive but permanent solution, a metal roof?
When I saw your ad looking for seven homes in the Eastern Ontario Market Area, I could not resist the temptation of at least hearing what you had to say and hope that your stimulation program would be the answer to our prayers. Your promised solution of “Your last roof” was manna to our ears. Thank you for working out a final number that we could afford. Even though you wanted an answer immediately and we knew that we could back out within 24 hours, we never even considered using the 24-hour cooling off period – you came across as knowledgeable, confident and completely trustworthy. Although I did continue my research the next day, I did not find anything that implied that our decision was not the best one for our situation.
I love the fact that we have a Non-ProRated Lifetime Warranty so the next time our roof leaks; it’s on you and that after three significant roof leaks we can finally RELAX!
Also part of the deal was that we could not schedule the roof installation at our convenience but you assured us that the work would be completed by December 19th, which was eight weeks away. It was a pleasant surprise to hear that we would only have to wait a month and the installers would be here by mid-November. And what a great crew they were. My first conversation with George was on the phone where I explained to him my fear of wood rot and impressed on him that I needed him to check every inch of the roof to make sure that the base for our new roof was perfectly sound. He listened attentively to our previous year’s nightmarish experience with the waterproof membrane on our deck, which turned out not to be so waterproof because of poor installation and had caused two feet of extensive wood rot along the entire perimeter of our deck. After receiving his promise that he would perform a thorough check and lift all the shingles in any suspicious areas, I hit him with another request that I knew was outside the scope of his work. I asked him to clean the gutters. Without a moment’s hesitation, he happily agreed to do it. And with that we had no more worries.
My husband, Michael, was quite impressed that George Wilson and his partner, Bob Shaw, were punctual and worked non-stop from the time they arrived on Monday afternoon, after a six-hour drive from Barrie Ontario, until it got to dark to work. They even continued working on Wednesday when it was raining until it got too dangerous to continue. I hope they enjoyed their afternoon off as it was well deserved. After their well-deserved break they came back on Thursday and stayed until the job was done. I was happy and surprised to finally meet them when I arrived home late on that night. But they were done and had picked up everything and were ready to start on their long trip home. I hope they made it safe and sound. I have never seen two guys work so hard and industriously. And I do believe I heard pride in their voices for a job well done. I guess it doesn’t hurt when you have such a great product to work with.
Finally, I just want to say that our neighbours are quite impressed with our new roof and have already shown some interest in having their own Interlock Roof installed when it’s their turn to re-roof. I just took some photos that I thought you might enjoy until you get the company ones done.
Thanks again for everything. I have to say that since we made our decision to have an Interlock roof grace our beautiful home the entire process has been stress free. And since we expect to pass our home down to our son and grandson, we are extremely grateful that roofing is one less headache that they will have to deal with.
Sincerely and gratefully,
Gisèle and Michael M. Dunrobin, Ontario K0A 1T0
